Delete your account
You can delete your PJ Connect account at any time — from inside the app, or by asking us here if you no longer have it installed.
Last updated 9 August 2026
1.Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately:
- Open the PJ Connect app and go to More → Settings.
- Scroll to Leaving the society.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm.
You do not need to contact anyone, and you do not need your committee’s approval to delete your own account.
If you only want to leave one society but keep your account, use Request account removal on the same screen instead — that notifies whoever can approve it.
2.Ask us to delete it
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address on your account, or tell us the mobile number you registered with:
Email support@pja.app to request deletion
We verify that the request genuinely comes from the account holder before acting on it — otherwise anyone could delete someone else’s account. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually far sooner.
3.What is deleted
Deleting your account removes, permanently:
- Your name, mobile number, email address and profile photo.
- Your sign-in credentials, PIN and all active sessions on every device.
- Your push-notification tokens, so notifications stop.
- Your gate pass, so the QR code stops working.
- Your roles and flat assignment in every society, ending all access.
- Your household memberships, so you stop receiving your old flat’s notifications.
- Any unused sign-in codes and the record of your recent sign-in attempts, both of which hold your mobile number.
4.What your society keeps, and why
A residential society has to be able to answer “who approved this, and when?” long after the person involved has left. So a small amount of record survives deletion, in a form that no longer identifies you:
| Record | Why it is retained |
|---|---|
| Gate entry and exit logs | Building security and incident investigation |
| Administrative audit entries | Committee accountability — the trail of who changed what |
| Notices, polls and documents you published | They are the society’s own communications and decisions; a poll result cannot be unpicked because one voter left |
| Maintenance requests, bookings and visitor records | The society’s operational history of what was raised, done and approved |
| Financial and maintenance history | Statutory and accounting obligations of the society |
| The fact that you consented, and when | Proof that the society was entitled to hold your data while it did. The device and network details recorded alongside it are erased. |
These are kept as anonymised entries: the action and its timestamp remain, your identity does not. Wherever your name would have appeared — the author of a notice, the person who raised a request — the app now simply shows “Deleted user”. Nothing retained can be used to contact you or to sign in as you.
5.Children in your household
If you added a child to your flat, you consented to the society holding their details as their parent or guardian. Removing that child from the household withdraws that consent and deletes their record. Deleting your own account does not by itself delete a family member’s account — remove them from the household first if that is what you intend.
